Public Safety Annoucement
- 2014 DUI Enforcement Program

The Stratford Police Department is participating in the 2014 Comprehensive 
DUI Enforcement program. This program enables us to conduct roadside 

sobriety checkpoints as well as increase the number patrol units dedicated 
specifically to reduction of impaired driving, and to reduce the number of injuries 
and fatalities that they can cause.

Officers To Receive Protective Vests

Stratford Police K-9’s “Khan” and “Bravo” will be receiving bullet and stab protective vests thanks to the efforts of Vested Interest in K9s, Inc, a Massachusetts based non-profit organization. News Release - Medication Drop Box Opens at Stratford Police Department

Mayor John A. Harkins announced that, “effective October 19, 2013, Stratford residents can now safely and properly dispose of their unused, unwanted, or expired medications without endangering the environment or water supplies."

Thanks to a grant from State of Connecticut Department of Mental
Health and Addiction Services, a medication drop box has been installed in the lobby of the Stratford Police Department...Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour said, “Unused medications left in the home are a growing concern and pose serious risks to health and safety if they end up in the wrong hands".
